Youth Rowing Programs

Combine the skill and athleticism of power lifting, swimming, and the golf swing.  Now imagine eight athletes performing the motion in perfect synchronization.  Welcome to the sport of rowing, otherwise known as "crew."

Everyone practices, everyone races.  There is no "bench seat" in the sport of rowing.  It is the policy of Everett Rowing that no cuts are made.  All that wish to participate or compete, have the opportunity to do so.

The Everett Rowing Association offers two programs for youths.

The High School Team is ERA's competitive youth rowing program that consistently produces National Championship caliber crews.  The Boy's and Girl's teams are each split into Varsity and Novice teams. The Novice teams are made up of athletes with less than a year of rowing experience and race against other Novice teams during their first year.  The varsity team is made up of athletes with more than one year of rowing experience.  Each season has a preparation period for technique and physical training with participation in 3-5 races.

The Middle School Team is a recreational program for athletes who love rowing or want to try rowing.  The team is open to all middle and high school students aged 12 to 14.  Emphasis is on technique development, physical conditioning, and of course, fun! - Each session includes optional participation in one race.
